Fogo Island Co-operative
18 years and counting . That’s how long we’ve been partners with our friends in Fogo . Our vessel harvests their offshore allocation employing local people from Fogo Island and we market their shell-on shrimp products throughout the world.
In the 1960’s this island of 11 communities decided they would not be part of our Province’s major resettlement program and embarked on an ambitious process of community survival through self discovery which has come to be known as the Fogo Process. Today the island continues to thrive, largely based on the economic success of the fish processing plants owned by the Fogo Island Co-op Society . If you’re looking for snow crab , cooked and peeled shrimp or a wide variety of ground fish or other seafood products call Ken Budden at the link below …..and tell him we sent you.
